5 Top Picnic Spots on the Gold Coast

It's Summer!  Grab the family or that special someone and head out for a picnic!

Here's 5 of our favourite picnic spots on the the Gold Coast:

1. Kurrawa Park, Broadbeach 

The Broadbeach parkland offers the perfect spot for a picnic, sprawl out on the grass with the beach just metres away for a post picnic swim. There's
also a great all-abilities playground where the kids will have hours of fun while you watch on from under the shade of a tree. All of the cafes and
restaurants of Broadbeach are also just a short walk away, so you can grab a coffee for that sunrise breakfast picnic.

2. Burleigh Headland

For a picnic with a view, find a spot on the headland and watch the surfers while you eat. During the whale season (May to November) it's also a good
vantage point for whale watching. If you're looking to work up a hunger or work off that feast ... then take the scenic coastal walk that winds around
from Burleigh Headland to Tallebudgeera Creek and back. There's also plenty of playgrounds, BBQ facilities and shops on hand for a hot coffee or cold
ice-cream.

3. Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens

Open all year from 5am to 7pm, this free entry garden is a wonderful place to explore nature and unwind with a picnic. There are beautiful gardens
to discover including The Butterfly Garden, Rose Garden and The Sensory Garden, there's also a children's playground and plenty of shady areas to spread
out and enjoy your day.

4. Evandale Park, Gold Coast Arts Centre

Located just behind Surfers Paradise at the Gold Coast Arts Centre, this park offers tranquil views over the Nerang River and a popular swimming lagoon
that's perfect for a dip in the summer. You'll find picnic shelters, BBQ areas and a fenced kids playground onsite. Plus, there's a walking path with
49 sculptures on show around the park.
