Where to go: Gold Coast Light Rail

September 15, 2020

With the Broadbeach South Gold Coast Light Rail station right outside our door, you can explore the Gold Coast and  'Ride the G' to any of the 19 Gold Coast locations!

Here are a few of the destinations you could go to, and some of the things you can do and see at those stops:

Broadbeach South:

This is the first/last stop and directly across the road from Bel Air on Broadbeach, it's also handy for the world-class Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, and the famous Dracula's Cabaret Restaurant.

Broadbeach North:

While it's easy walking distance from Bel Air on Broadbeach to the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre, you also have the option to 'Ride the G.' From trade shows to sporting events - there's always something happening at the GCCEC!
Other attractions at this stop include - The Star Gold Coast Casino, Kurrawa Pratten Park and playground, Oasis Shopping Complex, Oracle Shopping Centre, Niecon Shopping Plaza and the Broadbeach Markets (1st and 3rd Sunday at Kurrawa Park).

Florida Gardens:

Hop off here for Queensland's only revolving restaurant! The Four Winds offer spectacular 360 degree views of the Gold Coast from beach to hinterland, plus a delicious buffet selection. Open for lunch and dinner daily, and breakfast on Sundays. You'll also find the jungle-like trails of Kokoda Memorial Walk and the picturesque Cascade Gardens at this stop.

Surfers Paradise:

Visit the Q1 Skypoint Observation Deck for more spectacular Gold Coast views or perhaps challenge yourself with a Skypoint climb! This is also the stop for iFly indoor sky diving and Pancakes in Paradise.

Cavill Avenue:

Too many shops, restaurants, attractions and activities to name! Here are just some of the highlights: Gold Coast Wax Museum, Ripley's Believe it or Not, Timezone, Glow in the dark bowling, Hard Rock Cafe, and Build-a-Bear.
It’s also the best stop for selfies with the famous ‘Surfers Paradise’ beachfront signage!

Cypress Avenue:

Alight here for Chevron Renaissance Shopping Centre, Infinity attraction, and the Slingshot Gold Coast Park.

Surfers Paradise North:

Hop off here to visit the family favourite; King Tutts Putt Putt, Planet Chill Ice Skating and the newest family friendly Gold Coast attraction; Thomas and Friends Fun Park!

Main Beach:

Access to main beach, Macintosh Island Park, Sea World Resort & Water Park, Marina Mirage Shopping, Fisherman's Co-Op, Tedder Avenue Precinct (a bus transfer may be needed for some of these destinations).

Broadwater Parklands:

Broadwater Parklands, Rockpools water park, Australia Fair and the Chinatown precinct. In the summer best sure to check out the ‘GC Aqua Park' inflatable water park for fun for the whole family.
This is usually the best stop if you’re attending an event at the Broadwater Parklands.

Currently the last stop north, alight here for Queensland Rail (BNE/Airport line) and Helensvale Westfield Shopping Centre.

For all the stations on the Gold Coast Light Rail route and more information such as fares, timetables and COVID-19 updates, please visit 'Ride the G'.

Bel Air on Broadbeach is located directly across the road from Broadbeach South tram station, as well as Pacific Fair Shopping Centre and Dracula's Cabaret Restaurant. We are also an easy stroll to the beach, Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre, The Star (formerly Jupiter's Casino) and the lively centre of Broadbeach.
